Do you remember when and how you became a Kpop stan?

Is it weird that I can't remember when I became a Kpop fan?

I think I've been a Kpop fan for more or less than 3 years already but I can't remember the exact month I got hooked. I remember watching a BTS interview in an award show in America - i dunno if it's AMA or BBMA. I eventually ended up watching one of their music videos (it's either DNA or Mic Drop) then watching BTS profile videos on YT because I can't distringuish who is who and also funny videos - I've been trapped in the blackhole ever since. Funny how BTS is a huge part of me but I can't remember when (just the how) I started loving them.

Ps, I got introduced to other wonderful groups in KPOP too bc of BTS

It was in 2016 when BTS went to BBMAs for the first time. I actually was watching that award show because of Camila Cabello but then I saw them, and I was like.. Wait who are these cute guys? Then like they won The Social Artist award for Blood, Sweat and Tears and that's when it all started.

IT WAS BTS.

It was around March or April of 2019 and I was watching this Kdrama called 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty', who stars Cha Eunwoo of Astro.
I was curious to what Astro was so I googled them and looked them up on Youtube.
As a dancer I was drawn to their dance practices and was hooked when I saw how cool the dancing was.
My bias changed to Moonbin and I started to branch out into other groups, BTS being the first.
I'm still finding new music and new groups to stan, I actually just started looking into Oneus and A.C.E

lol but seriously, that's literally how I came about them and other K-pop artists! The day was September 16, 2017. I was fooling around on Wiki and ended up searching BTS because I'd seen their name being thrown around on Twitter and just wanted to know their names. Then, I had this one girl I follow on Twitter who was obsessed with BTS (like, OBSESSED!), and she posted a pic of the member who I'd later find out was RM, so I asked her who he and BTS were... and man, did she tell me! One 20-tweet-long intro thread later, I looked them up on Wiki again to see what their latest album was (at the time it was YNWA) and bought it on iTunes. I had originally chosen Jimin as my bias, but Jin took over when I heard his vocals for the very first time on Awake!

And then, I started to get into even more K-pop artists, and here I am today! lol

its was bout 2017 when my sister showed me got7 and bts then i did make fun of her for liking kpop but i started to watch got7 a little bit more then i went to got7 debut song girl girls girls and that when i fell in-love with got7 and that´s when i got in-to kpop
and that´s why got7 is my ult group

In January last year my ex girlfriend (at the time she was my best friend) told me to listen to Kpop. I listened to Boombayah and a few other songs (egotistic was ironically one of them and I hated it at the time) and I began listening to Blackpink. After we started dating I listened to more songs so I could talk about it with her.

Sorry we about to get into some drama but we just break up and all I can say is thanks to her I’ve had Mamamoo to get me through all of the pain lmao

My friend talked about Kpop non stopped and I looked up kpop myself to see what all this chit chat was about. So I clicked on Dance The Night Away and yeah that was my first kpop song I listened to .

January 2017 when in STEM class my friend was forcing us to listen to Gee by snsd and i liked it and listened to it at home again and i found fire by bts and i listened to more bts and i became multi stan in 2018 when i listened to more groups. It was also a week before my 13th birthday so technically all throughout my teenage years ive been listening to kpop.

I know my exact date September 15, 2017. I was chillin' wit my one of my cousins- lets call her 'C' and another one of my cousins- let's call her 'L'- went up to her and was like 'C Boombaya! TT!" (you can see where dis is goin) And C put it on and I was in the room and I seen Lisa's face on a widescreen so naturally i was like "Tf is dis shit?" C pulled me into her room and sat me down and was like "Lemme educate you right quick" Then I was put on blast with a hella lot of Kpop groups. The first one she showed me, you'd think it'd be BP or TWICE but no. It was MX and BTS

on new year’s eve (dec. 31st) 2017 when i watched bts perform on dick clark’s new year’s rockin eve show. i actually didn’t watch it all of their performance bc my family was teasing me bc at the time i was a bit of a weeb and listened to lots of j-pop/rock bc of anime openings so they were like “look it’s your japanese boys!” but when i went to bed i secretly searched up bts and ended up watching the dna and mic drop mv. i immediately got hooked to it and fell down the k-pop hole : D

In May of 2018. I was watching an ASMR video and people kept commenting the girl in the video looked like "Lisa from BP" and I got curious and typed in "Lisa from BP" and that's how I found Blackpink and also BTS because after listening to Boombaya, Mic Drop came up next.

November 3, 2018. First group was B.A.P. I knew my sister like Lovesick by B.A.P so i played it on YT 4 her and I liked it so i listened to more of their music and got hooked. Then she made me watch a bunch of BTS MVs and I was thinking like "I don't care about BTS, why are you making me do this". But I LOVED For You and look where we are now lol

So my story is a bit of a wild one, I got into kpop around 2014, I remember watching a Fine Bros video of YouTubers reacting to Kpop and I watched it bc Dan and Phil we're on that episode and Phil was like " they're really good at dancing " but Dan said " No I've seen better, SHINee are better at dancing" so I looked up SHINee and that was how I fell down the kpop hole
