Day6's Jae leaves the band and JYP Entertainment

On January 1st, it was announced that Jae of Day6 has decided to leave the band and the agency.

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.
First, we would like to sincerely apologize to the My Day who have always cheered on DAY6 for bringing you this sudden news.
As of December 31, 2021, DAY6 member Jae will be leaving the band and ending his exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment, due to personal reasons. JYP Entertainment arrived at this decision in order to respect Jae's wishes after engaging in a lengthy discussion with the idol.
Although our relationship with Jae has now come to an end, JYP Entertainment will continue to cheer on Jae's new beginning in the near future.
Finally, JYP Entertainment promises to provide the fullest support toward the activities of DAY6, and we ask My Day for your unending love and support.

i haven't been keeping up w him, but according to my cousin, he's been really off lately, and acting really strange, making comments abt how he's not kpop, he's pop bc he's not brainwashed like other idols, and naming idols that have nothing to do w it. maybe being under jyp has affected his mental health, esp w the mistreatment from the company and jyp himself. here's to hoping jae can feel better and have more creative freedom now!

He was on Twitch the other day talking about it. He said Jae does not equal JYP and that was forever. He also said Jae does not equal DAY6 and that was temporary. He said he talked about it with the other members and hopes to reconnect with them after they finish their military service. He also asked that if we can’t trust him, to trust the other members. For now, he’ll continue to crowdfund his own music under his indie name, Eaj. As long as he’s happy, I’m happy. Best of luck to all of them.

I would be very surprised if he wasn't suffering from some type of depression- This sets off a lot of red flags. I wonder if something happened. However, it's only speculation. Regardless, I hope he is able to make the music that he wants, now. ^^

oh, yeah, definitely /gen. even from the little bit ik abt day6's situation, i can only imagine how i would feel in their shoes, and none of it's good.
