Who is CLASS:y?
Class:y is a 7 member girl group that was formed by the survival show 'My Teenage Girl'.
They debuted with the title track "Shut Down" on May 5th, 2022.
I believe that CLASS:y is the only 4th gen girl group who have the most complete and advanced vocals.
What makes them even more amazing is that most survival show groups usually only have 1-3 capable vocalists, but literally everyone in CLASS:y is good.
Half the group is a main vocal or could be one in another group, and the other half could be lead vocals.
Something I also love about CLASS:y is more often than not, they sing live.
So I'd like to show that off today member by member!
*Yes CLASS:y does have members that are very underage, and I don't condone that. However that doesn't mean they shouldn't be praised for their talents.*
Hyungseo
Hyungseo is the oldest and most experienced in the group.
Fun Fact: She was in a girl group called Busters with Kep1er's Yeseo.
Hyungseo has this really beautiful vocal tone that is still quite strong and capable.
Her tone is so unique that I haven't really heard it anywhere else.
Her perfomance in Time for The Moon Night is iconic!
Chaewon
Chaewon was viewed as *the main vocalist* during most of My Teenage Girl and continues to be seen as such after debut.
Her voice is so incredibly similar in tone and power to Taeyeon.
She's my bias just cause her vocals are so enthralling.
She's only gonna get better and better.
Her covers of 'I' and 'Secret Garden' are iconic.
Hyeju
Hyeju is the leader and her role is more dance and rap based.
However she can still sing on the same level as most higher-level sub vocalists.
Riwon
Riwon is another really promising vocalists, especially at her age.
She really shows this off in the Decalcomanie stage.
Fun Fact: She did most of the adlibs and the high note in the last chorus of "Shut Down"
Jimin
Jimin is the other main vocalist in CLASS:y (also center as she won 1st)!
She is especially good at singing high notes.
She only really discovered that singing was her thing throughout the show. (Her audition song was Monster and she sand Irene's part).
I know she'll only improve more and more with age.
Again she was amazing in the Decalcomanie and Twinkle stages. (Twinkle especially is very hard to pull off).
Boeun
Boeun not only is a mini Jennie based on looks, but also vocals.
They both have this similar edge in their voices and it's very evident when she covered Solo.
Her low notes are also really amazing.
She also had a really amazing performance of Decalcomanie.
Seonyou
Seonyou's role in the group is also more rap and dance based, but she could legit be a lead vocalist in another group.
Seonyou sings really powerfully but can still get up high.
She hit Minnie's high note in Lion on numerous occaisons.
