"Plan on staying the night Lee?" Felix looks up and sees Mrs. Choi, the detention monitor looming over his desk.
"Ah- no sorry I'll go home now ma'am"
"You'd better hurry, detention ended an hour and a half ago. If you miss the next the next train you'll have to wait for hours until the next one comes, and you don't want to be out at night after the sun sets"
"Thank you for the concern ma'am but I'll be fine." Felix gives his teacher a light smile but she just huffs
"Teenagers these days... think they're invincible"

"I'd like to buy a subway ticket please" Felix asks the booking officer
"Next train don't roll around 'till 9:30, it seems like you just missed it."
Felix smiles sadly, nodding at the old man, and then leaves the station in hopes of catching a taxi. But after being unable to find one, he makes his way to the next bus station

Someone grabbed his arm harshly, and before he could respond he felt cold metal against his neck.
"Make a sound and I'll gut you like a pig. Got it?"
Felix stifles a whimper and nods slowly as his attacker leads him into an alley.
"It's such a shame you have to die. I always feel bad when I have to kill kids...but not bad enough."
His attacker shrugs, tightens his grip around Felix's arm and bites right through his uniform shirt.
He blacks out before he's able to scream.

Felix winces twice, first at the bright hospital lights then at his Korean name.
"Fine... a bit lightheaded... um what happened?"
The doctor give him a pitiful smile
"You know about Ghouls right?"
He nods and the doctor continues.
"The man who attacked you last night was believed to be one of those creatures."
The doctor gestures to his shoulder.
"That bite left a horrible wound, you bled a lot but nothing that a blood transfusion and surgery couldn't fix"\
"B-blood transfusion...?"
"Yes but don't worry, you're a healthy kid, I wouldn't worry about the side effects. Any more questions?"
"Yeah one more, what happened to him?"
"Who?"
"The ghoul..."
"Oh him. He suffered a heart attack short after he bit you. You're a lucky kid. Not many people survive ghoul attacks"
