I never have time to sit down and read, but I used to read all the time when I was a kid/teenager

I’ve literally been reading the same book since September 2019, because I never have time since my kids take up a majority of my time.

The book I’ve been reading on since September 2019 though is called Battle Royale, I love it so far, way more graphic than the 2000 movie that it’s based off of.

Some other favorite books of mine include:

Wintergirls
THIN
Little Girls in Pretty Boxes
(Even though I shouldn’t read the three above since they trigger my eating disorder every time but yolo, but LGIPB is more about figure skating & gymnastics but other things are mentioned too)
Crack
Glass
Identical
Imperfect
R.L Stein’s Goosebumps books
Mary-Kate & Ashley Adventure books
Anything Stephen King has put out, especially IT & Pet Semetary

Man, I loved books, still do. When I was a kid, I would always be out on my back porch in the summer with a stack of books, some Capri juice & some kind of fruit like watermelon or grapes and just sit out there for hours reading book after book

Maybe you could make your kids do that too? (if they’re old enough) and you can read beside them? 🤷‍♀️

Well, one of my favorite books (have read it numerous of times) is The Harrogate Secret by Catherine Cookson.
My copy's from -92, though I think it was first published around 88-89.

The story's about a boy in the mid 1800s, and what happens during his first 20ish years.
It's a rather interesting tale, and it's a pity this authoress isn't more acknowledged.

My son just started bringing library books home from the school library but he has no internet in reading, despite me and his grandma trying to get him into it 🤦‍♀️

Well, you can never have too much of erasers.
Plus, there are also the type of erasers that is shaped as small animals and other fun stuff, like fruits!, so it can actually be a sort of collection, if you will. ^^

I remember in middle school I was obsessed with the Rick Riordan books lol
His series were the first books I read when I started school after being home-schooled for about 3 years
After reading his series I just started liking Greek mythology a lot more. Like, I would go read the actual folk tales not the watered-down ones you find in storybooks and it was really interesting to compare the character's personalities in the storybooks, and in the myths. For instance, a huge example would be Hades who in Greek Mythology is the God of the Underworld. If you've watched the Disney(?) movie, Hercules, they portray him as a nasty evil villain; which is how most people nowadays do, but if you really look at the old tales/myths, he's more reserved to himself and doesn't really like getting involved. So I just found that really interesting ^^

-wow I think this is the longest text I've written on the forums

The Percy Jackson series? Finally someone who've read the books! (many only know of that awful movie version....)

True.
Plus, if he's stuck in the underworld and not welcome at Olympus with the rest of them lot, I'd be rather annoyed too...

My all time favorite book series is The Grishaverse, by Leigh Bardugo. It's currently made up of three miniseries (The Shadow and Bone trilogy, the Six of Crows duology, and the Nikolai duology) with a couple other little books and it's literally the best series I've ever read. if you want some political fantasy with a magic system rooted in science and some of the best characters you've ever seen you should definitely read the books. The Shadow and Bone miniseries is really good too, but it tells a different story.

Are you my secret twin? 👀

I LOVE Wintergirls, Crack, and Glass. I really like Imperfect and Identical, too. And I was obsessed with Goosebumps as a kid.

I love anything by Laurie Halse Anderson and Karen M. McManus. I also really like Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, it’s pretty new. I just live to read, but sadly, I don’t read as much as I used to.
