Big Hit Entertainment Officially Acquires Pledis Entertainment

Earlier this year there were rumors that Pledis had been acquired by Big Hit due to Seventeen joining Weverse, however this proved false until now. As of May 25th, 2020 Big Hit Entertainment is the largest share holder of Pledis. This means that Big Hit has bought enough of Pledis's stocks so that they own a majority of the company financially.
Pledis will still operate as it's own independent label, but with Big Hit's influence. It will be the same exact circumstance that Source Music is in right now.
Pledis Entertainment CEO/Chairman was quoted saying the following regarding how this move would be beneficial, "play a greater role in overseas markets based on Big Hit's global networks and platform technologies, capabilities of which have been proven by BTS' global success".
It seems that Seventeen, Nu'est, and many other artists have joined the Big Hit Labels family alongside Gfriend, BTS, and TXT.
We will see in the future how this affects the artists and the company.
