I find that there are so many users on this forum that are currently taking dance classes or have in the past. I would love to learn more about all of your histories with dance!

Here is mine:
I took ballet classes for 16 years (age 2-18). At 13 years old I started learning how to dance in pointe shoes!
I never seriously thought about going pro. However I did attend a summer intensive at The Joffrey Ballet which was really fun!
I have also taken contemporary, jazz, tap, and modern for several years.
I danced competitively for a number of years too.
I can choreograph too. I created a whole solo dance for myself my senior year!
It's been almost 2 years since I have taken a class and I miss it so much. It's difficult when you are an adult and you are in college.
But I'm still pretty decent at it. I've just lost strength and flexibility, plus my leg...
Now I just learn kpop dances and occasionally improv or choreograph for myself. Last year I choreographed nearly two minutes into The Rose's song "She's In The Rain", but I haven't gotten to it for a while. Maybe tomorrow?

What about you all? Any fellow dancers wish to share?

I actually am! I've been dancing since 2012 but really got passionate around 2016/17 and since then I've improved a whole bunch!

I used to dance from 1st to 6th grade in the dance team of my school. I want to pick up dancing again and I'm trying to teach myself since with the whole corona thing I couldn't sign up for a dance academy.

I’ve done a few variations of different dance throughout the years but never long enough to get good, and I dropped it all a few years ago. And now I still dance for fun in my free time but yeh nothing serious lmaooo

I've been taking dance classes basically since I could walk (ballet, tap, jazz, modern/contemporary) and now I go to an arts middle/high school where my "major" is dance. I started learning kpop dances last summer and I'm slowly improving. It's kinda hard bc I'm not used to the sharp movements in a lot of dances.
