anyone else miss old kpop?

maybe i'm just getting old but i'm finding a lot of the recent releases kinda bad. i especially don't particularly like the weird drop chorus that's gotten really popular ever since gashina and ddu du ddu du released. there are some songs, like gashina, where i like it and some songs, like ddu du ddu du, where i really don't.

there's also a lot of like. noise songs. its what i've heard them called, and idk if there's a more apt music term for it, but its just songs that sound like noise. some of them, like miroh and hit, i really really like, but most others really aren't my taste. but i see that a lot of, i assume younger, kpop fans really like them so i guess that just me getting old.

beyond just the music, i also miss old kpop visuals as far as fashion goes. i'm sure the kind of outfits idols used to wear seem utterly hideous and terrible nowadays but i really liked them. i liked how out there they were.

as i keep writing this i think i must sound like some cranky dinosaur lol maybe i should double down on my "old kpop is better" mentality and start listening to chakra and g.o.d

It depends of the groups. Some new released are a miss, and other are pretty good, so I always find something I like.
Popularity of the group has no effect on it. I even consider that bad song are easily going viral just because they are released by top group.
Since I've already too many biases everywhere, if the song isn't something I like, I'll just pass. My tastes doesn't follow much the trend.
Some older group released great song after great songs, so I'll miss them forever.
For the visual, I think it's ok now, but I never really care much.

I miss old kpop groups so much. High School (2019 GG) does concepts similar to 2nd Gen

I've only been into kpop for a few years so I don't really miss the old style kpop, but theres been a lot of change in terms of music style even just within the few years that I've been listening to it so I totally get how you'd be missing the old gens, especially if the older style is the reason you got into kpop in the first place
