[ANALYSIS] AESPAvsITZY

This is a thread to compare the groups "ITZY" and "AESPA". This is only for fun, don't get too worked up about this

Vocals -
Main Vocalists - Lia vs Ningning
Ningning easily floors this battle, she is arguably the best vocalist of the 4th gen. Ningning and Lia both receive SM training benefits, but Lia is also forced to use her upper register to suit ITZY's songs. Ningning can support very well, which boosts her up more. Lia also has not been treated very well as a Main Vocalist in title tracks recently, as Chaeryeong has been handling the high notes. Lia also is probably average for a main vocalist, while Ningning is above standard.

Lead Vocalists - Yeji vs Winter
Winter is an easy choice for this battle. She can pass off as a main vocalist in nearly any other group, while Yeji would be lucky to keep her position as lead vocalist. Winter can support during live performances, and has a high range. Both Winter and Yeji are good at belting. Yeji is actually very good for a JYP idol, she is very stable. Unfortunately, almost no one could win in a lead vocalist battle against Winter.

Sub Vocalists - Chaeryeong, Ryujin and Yuna vs Karina and Giselle

If Chaeryeong was with better vocalists, she probably would even it out a bit. Chaeryeong is arguably one of the standout sub vocalists in the 4th gen behind Karina and Giselle, as she has the potential to pass of as a lead vocalist in ITZY. Ryujin has great musicality and Yuna is relaxed in both registers, but both are weak for vocalists. Notably, they have been developing their voices better in the recent comeback (especially Yuna). Giselle and Karina have SM to back their vocals up, and to be honest they're probably better than Yeji. full capability, but AESPA takes the vocal cake.

Rap -
Main Rapper - Ryujin vs Giselle

Ryujin isn't as bad as everyone credits her for, but ITZY raps are kind of fast talking which doesn't utilise her full capability to the extent that SM is using Giselle's. Giselle has great flow and tone and she actually has impressive raps. It is also impressive how Giselle is able to rap in a language which was not her native. Clearly JYP needs to learn a thing or two from SM. Sometimes, I would place Ryujin over Giselle, considering the flop rap that Giselle had in Spicy versus the rap that Ryujin had in Born to Be but it's probably due to the song.

Lead Rapper - Yuna vs Karina

Yuna is quite strong for a lead rapper. Her #Twenty rap was simply amazing. She has great flow and tone, with the ability to do that live, and dancing. While Karina is a strong lead rapper, I feel that Yuna has better ability, due to training more. Her raps in Step Back would've made her on par with Yuna, but Yuna's ability to rap live boosts her further, which is something AESPA doesn't really showcase

Sub Rappers - Yeji, Chaeryeong and Lia vs Winter and Ningning

AESPA don't have any official sub rappers, so I placed Winter and Ningning. Winter is decently average for a sub rapper, her rap in Next Level was good. Ningning hasn't really shown anything that would make me place her higher apart from her mini rap in Drama, which made me impressed. Yeji and Chaeryeong, on the other hand, are above average for sub rappers. They have shown their skill in various songs like #Twenty, Sneakers and more. Lia proved her skill in None of Your Business, so ITZY wins.

Main Dancer(s) - Chaeryeong and Yeji vs Karina

Chaeryeong on her own is already very strong as a main dancer, but Yeji and Chaeryeong together make the strongest main dancers in the 4th gen. Chaeryeong's fluidity and stamina is insane, and Yeji's ability to perform adds more to the hard choreography. Karina is kind of under average for a main dancer, possibly even lead when compared to dancers like ITZY's. Her alignment is kind of weird, even with AESPA's choreos. ITZY isn't known as the dance group for nothing.

Lead dancer(s) - Yuna and Ryujin vs Winter

Yuna and Ryujin could pass off as main dancers in other groups. Many people were very impressed at Ryujin's dance cover of Look What You Made Me Do as an audition for MIXNINE. Yuna's always been known for her energetic dancing style. Winter is below average in terms of dancing, her strength is her weakness, but her alignments are way better than Karina.

Non dancer(s) - Lia vs Giselle and Ningning

When compared, Ningning and Giselle seem to be better than Lia in terms of technicality, but ITZY have much harder choreography than AESPA, so Lia is probably closer to Ningning and Giselle than everyone let's themselves realise. They all are average/below average dancers, which is why they don't have dance positions. Ningning might receive a lead dancer since her skill is honestly underrated and on par with Winter, but AESPA already has confirmed positions.

Stage presence - Yuna, Yeji, Chaeryeong, Ryujin and Lia vs Ningning, Karina, Giselle and Winter

Ryujin and Yuna have top tier stage presence with varieties of facial expressions. Chaeryeong and Yeji's stage presence capabilities are probably as high as Ryujin and Yuna's, but their lowest is lower. In my opinion, Ryujin's stage presence hasn't been standing out in the recent performances, where else the other three have been. Ningning has surprisingly good stage presence, but the rest of AESPA doesn't know how to perform. They're improving though!

Visuals - Yuna vs Karina
I don't really want to rank visuals, since it is very subjective. My visual preferences are Chaeryeong and Ningning, who aren't visuals.
