Hi, folks!
I'm starting uni next month and I need any advice you can give me. I'm actually a little bit scared because I will be alone since all my friends are going to different unis and we will be separated by the distance.
Can you tell me how to make friends? Because I'm super shy and I don't know how to approach other people. Also, how can I be productive and get good grades?
Thank you! ❤❤

Hey! The best way to make friends is to join clubs that your uni offers! If you can, join more than one, so you can share your many interests with a variety of people !! Many universities should offer advisors so dont be scared to find one and ask questions, especially with the instructors :) learn to balance your classes/courses and don't take all things on at once !! it may be hard to adjust to such a big change, especially if ur a bit shy, but you got this! 💕✨

If you're a girl, Be careful from Crazy boys. If you're a boy, be careful from crazy girls 😂 (But seriously though)
Have fun but don't trust anyone too much. Join clubs to make more friends and to be familiar with the place quickly and to get more experience. Try to join programs and events that are held by the university. these will give you lifelong friends and good memories...

But don't forget to attend all the lectures and take notes and study and finish all the assignments as quickly as possible. Be friendly to everyone (Especially to seniors), bcoz you don't know when you're gonna need their help. If you don't understand something, don't be shy to ask from professors/ lecturers. If you're too shy to ask in the class, go to her office in free times and ask. Understanding the subject is important since they will actually be useful in the future (Not like the subjects we learn at school that doesn't have anything to do with our real life)
Don't be scared. Everybody is scared when they start university. There will be so many people like you. Don't think too much, just go and talk with them and be friends... 😄 😄
Good luck! 😊 😄

1. Dont just limit your friend group to those you live with. I did this and it took me 2 and a half years of living with them to realise I was just too different to them and I had missed out on meeting people I could have really made good friends with.
2. Enjoy yourself as much as possible. Take every opportunity you can. Go on that night out. Take that elective class you have an interest in. Join that club you like. If the club doesn't exist, make it! You can find any clubs in uni and the friends you make there are great.
3. (If in the UK) Your first year doesn't count toward your final grade but don't let this lull you into a sense of 'none of this work matters'. You have that first year to guide you into the workload and it'll only get steeper as the years go on.
4. Don't get hung up on romantic relationships forged in uni. Don't cut off your friends for it, it's usually not worth it.
5. Start your assignments with lots of time before they are due. Send them to your friends to check over, send them to your lecturers if they allow it, speak to the writing team at uni so they can help too. I was a mentor at uni and could help people move from one grade to the next for free. Use everything available to you to have the best, most productive time.
6. Lame but enjoy every single minute of it. Call your family, keep in touch but enjoy this freedom and thrive. You will do amazing!

Hope this helps!
