8 of 13 WJSN members renew their contracts

After their 7 year anniversary on the 25th of February, many Ujung have been waiting to hear the news about WJSN’s contracts. Many fans did not believe the group were going to completely disband due to the fact Starship had posted that WJSN would be joining Bubble alongside all the other Starship groups. However, there was still the possibility that certain members of the group would not remain.

On the 3rd of March, it was announced that Luda and Dawon had decided not to renew their contracts with Starship and the group and therefore will no longer be a part of WJSN. The other Korean members: Seola, Soobin, EXY, Eunseo, Bona, Yeoreum, Dayoung and Yeonjung will be continuing the group as 8 members. It’s currently unknown how this decision will effect WJSN Chocome, with whether they will continue to promote as 3 or whether the sub-unit will disband.

Furthermore, the Chinese members under Yuehua Entertainment, Mei Qi, Xuan Yi and Cheng Xiao have automatically had their contracts terminated. Due to the fact the members haven’t been promoting with the group since 2018, this is a decision that hasn’t shocked anyone, especially after WJSN did not post for the recent birthday of Xuan Yi.

UPDATE ON LUDA AND DAWON
WJSN Member Soobin mentioned on a vlive that “WJSN is still 10 and will always be 10”. This spiked some confusion as to whether Luda and Dawon were still promoting members of WJSN

Another article has been released by Starship Entertainment, stating that while Luda and Dawon have left Starship, they’re still open to promote with WJSN. Though it doesn’t seem clear as to what the future holds, it does mean there is the possibility WJSN will be able to promote further as a 10 member group
