Okay soooo if you read my statuses you might know I was planning on making a thread that would make me a hypocrite. BOOM! Here it is LMAO.
So a little while back I said I hate when people say “best songs of 2022” when it’s nowhere near the end of the year. And I’m still true to that. However since June marks the 6th month of the year I do think that a midway point is a good place to make something like this. So that’s why I’m here making it!
Here is a list of my top 10 favourite songs released this year (including bsides).
10th. Tell Me One More Time - CLASS:y
[Class Is Over]
The reason I love this song is how summery and energetic it is. It just makes me feel so happy and so that’s why it’s at number 10.
9th. Super Yuppers! - WJSN Chocome
[Super Yuppers!]
One of the most obnoxious songs this year and that’s why it’s amazing. Dayoung absolutely killed this era and honestly if you don’t like this song I don’t trust you end of the story
8th. Shut Down - CLASS:y
[Class Is Over]
The title track that accompanies TMOMT. This song is just such a good debut song. It’s fierce but energetic and the vocals are so good
7th. GingaMingaYo (The Strange World) - Billlie
[the collective soul and unconscious: chapter one]
Bonus points if you found this song before Tsuki went viral. This was literally such an amazing comeback. It’s one of the most unique songs out there and I just love how fun and silly it is
6th. Rolla Skates - Jo Yuri
[Op.22 Y-Waltz : in major]
This is such a magical song. It’s easy to listen to and it’s relaxing. But the highlight of this song is Yuri’s vocals. They sound like glass which I suppose is fitting for her
5th. Escape Room - fromis_9
[Midnight Guest]
I will not shut up about this song until one person goes @shinnayu you were right I’m sorry for doubting you this is one of the best songs ever. It’s so classy and elegant. Kinda sexy too. It’s also so easy on the ears LIKE THE CHORUS omg omg omg. I love it
4th. Blue Flame - LE SSERAFIM
[Fearless]
Such a simplistic song yet so impactful. The vocals are so smooth and nice, and it makes me feel confident. I honestly wish this was the title track over Fearless coz even though Fearless grew on me I feel like it was a safe choice. This song sort of reminds me of Like It Hot by GWSN which was one of my favourite titles from last year
3rd. La Luna - ICHILLIN’
[Bridge of Dreams]
Basically all the songs from 3-1 are tied but I forced them into an order because I’m like that. If you asked me to describe how the night sky would sound I would just say La Luna by Ichillin. I just feel like a fairy listening to this song it’s like magic in sound form and I think it’s possibly one of the BEST bsides in the history of Kpop and it deserved to have a music video at the bare minimum
2nd. LOVE DIVE - IVE
[Love Dive]
I literally spent a solid month doing the dance to this song multiple times a day. Daily. The only times I stopped was when I was sick but you bet your ass I was still dancing while sick just smaller. I’m still mad about the bridge but honestly the rest of the song is a work of art that I cannot let the bridge spoil it. IVE are like rookies of the century I swear to god their power is terrifying
1st. Ven Para - Weeekly
[Play Game : AWAKE]
First place and the most controversial song on this list. Many people don’t like this song because it ruined Weeekly’s cute concept, and that it was a generic song any group could release. To that I say VEN PARA ACA VEN PARA ACA. I am the Ven Para girl of the forums (declared by myself) because god the day I heard this I had to loop it for 3 days straight. The impact of this song. The vocals. The rap. The dance. It’s so powerful. And idc if any group could of done it. Weeekly was the chosen group and they killed it. They killed it so hard it’s my official favourite song.
