In July 2017, Lee Seoyeon became a contestant in Idol School, and finished the competition in seventh place, thus becoming a member of fromis_9. The group made their official debut on January 24, 2018 with their first mini album To. Heart.

On November 29, 2024, Pledis Entertainment announced that fromis_9's exclusive contracts with them would be terminated on December 31 as the group decided not to renew. Seoyeon departed from the group following the contract termination.

On July 23, 2025, it was announced that Lee Seoyeon signed an exclusive contract with H1GHR Music with the goal of becoming a solo artist

She has a new name for her Solo career.
