General appreciation regarding the two boy groups KickFlip and BoyNextDoor from a non 5th gen fan.
I've been thinking of writing this post for the last little while but I kinda feel like my thoughts are currently all over the place so I may end up coming back to it and editing it a little later, even if boy groups may not be that most popular here from what I have seen so far, I really wanted to talk about them (I'm trying to not post on reddit as much these days lol), and I wanted to give my insight as a mainly 3rd - 4th gen fan who really doesn't know all to much about the next gen.
I may not know all the members to well or be able to recognize them all that well (besides Jaehyun/Sungho), but they are groups I'm seeing more and more on my feed, even content from those fans who support the groups. They are groups that really surprised me, tbh although KickFlip's debut was catchy and stayed in my head a couple days, I kinda forgot about them for a while until recently. Its always impressive to see members that have different roles, even taking part in composing, producing and composing a song to.
There's just something about the members from these groups that make me smile, I'm not to sure what it is but its never a bad thing when I see them? I'm always like ya they are really cool and just have a lot of respect for them I guess.
KickFlip.
When watching their cover of SKZ LALALALA it was one of the most recent videos of them I've seen in a while tbh, and seeing this first then getting suggested to watch Freeze, Skip It, , it was shocking (in a good way!) to see the duality and ability of the group over all. But Umm Great and Mama Said are easily the songs that got stuck in my head the most.
BoyNextDoor.
Although I'm not that most active on Instagram anymore, it was clear that the feed loved BND!, even at first when I didn't know who they were, I would alway's see OneDoor (fandom name), videos or unboxings, often small clips they had from concerts or meet n greets, and its clear they really love the group. Just the other day I watched the short clip of the members covering 'Bling Bang Bang Born' and they did really well. (Video I saw). I also loved the idea of 'colours of our playlist' video they did it was a really cute way to promote their songs.
I really do wish them well, they both seem like really good guys who have a love and passion for music.
