Aimer (エメ) (pronounced as Eme (エメ))is a Japanese singer and lyricist signed to SACRA MUSIC and managed by agehasprings. She debuted in September 2011 with the single “Rokutousei no Yoru“. She was originally signed under SME Records but was transferred to SACRA MUSIC (another Sony sub-label) in September 2021.

-Birthplace: Kumamoto, Japan
-Aimer’s father was a bassist in a band, so music surrounded her from a very young age.
-She started to study the piano in elementary school and admired the music of Ringo Sheena and Hikaru Utada.
-In junior high school, Avril Lavigne’s music inspired her to take up guitar and begin writing lyrics in English.
-At the age of 15, she lost her voice due to vocal cord overuse and underwent silence therapy for treatment.
-After she had recovered, she acquired her distinctive husky voice.
-On September 7 2011, Aimer debuted for Defstar Records, with the song “Rokutousei no Yoru“.

-Following the announcement of her 4th album Daydream, Aimer performed the ending song, “Akane Sasu” for the fifth season of the anime series Natsume’s Book of Friends.
-On January 8, 2019, Aimer released the single “I beg you” for the anime film Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel II. lost butterfly.
-The song became her first #1 single on Oricon’s chart.
-In 2021, Aimer’s song “Zankyou Sanka” was used for the second season opening of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
-“Zankyou Sanka” became her first song to reach the top of the Japan Hot 100 chart, selling 87,649 downloads in its first week.
-The song also charted at number 37 on the Billboard Global 200, marking Aimer’s first appearance on the chart.
-Her stage name comes from the verb “Aimer” in French, which means “to love”.
-Aimer uses the name aimerrhythm for lyrics credits.
